American Specialty To Sell Insured Programs In Oregon

NU Online News Service, Oct. 20, 2003, 3:38 p.m. EDT – American Specialty Health Insurance Company, a subsidiary of American Specialty Health Inc., San Diego, has started selling alternative health benefits programs directly to Oregon employers.

The programs, available to employers with at least 51 employees, include discounts and, in some cases, insurance coverage for services such as acupuncture and massage therapy. American Specialty also sells chiropractic benefits and a vitamin discount program.

American Specialty already manages chiropractic benefits for Oregon health plans with 200,000 members. The company’s Oregon network includes more than 900 alternative health care providers.
