NU Online News Service, Oct. 16, 2003, 2:30 p.m. EDT – Nationwide Financial Services, Inc., Columbus, Ohio, says it has completed integrating life insurance underwriting and sales support for its Nationwide Provident unit.

Nationwide Financial acquired Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company, which had been located in Berwyn, Pa., in October 2002. Last June, Nationwide announced it had finished combining the two firms’ retirement plan sales forces.

Nationwide Provident operations now will be based in Columbus, Nationwide says, supported by underwriters and systems personnel in Newark, Del.

Nationwide Financial says it will continue to integrate the unit’s information technology infrastructure and Web applications through 2004.
