John Alden To Sell HRAs

NU Online News Service, Oct. 7, 2003, 3:17 p.m. EST – John Alden Life Insurance Company, Milwaukee, has introduced a Health Reimbursement Arrangement program and is making its Medical Savings Account plans available in more states.

John Alden, a unit of Fortis, Belgium, will be marketing the HRA and MSA plans through its North Star Marketing unit.

The plans will be available in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.

John Alden previously sold MSA plans, which combine high-deductible health insurance with Medical Savings Accounts, in eight states.

John Alden sells MSAs to employers with two to 50 employees.

Employers of all sizes can combine HRAs with high-deductible health insurance.
