NU Online News Service, Sept. 9, 2003, 4:32 p.m. EDT – New York Life Insurance Company, New York, has named Sandra Kristoff chief of staff.

She previously was head of government relations for the company’s New York Life International unit. She helped the company get an operating license in China and manage the company’s entry into India and Vietnam.

Kristoff is taking over most of the responsibilities of George Trapp, New York Life’s executive vice president and secretary, who retired in August.

Kristoff will be in charge of New York Life’s human resources, communications, corporate services, employee health and governmental affairs operations.

David Harland, a senior vice president and deputy general counsel, will take over Trapp’s duties as corporate secretary, New York Life says. In recent years, Harland has been the assistant secretary.

Kristoff has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from American University and a law degree from George Washington University.
