Spectera Starts National Dental Plan, Revamps Sales Force

NU Online News Service, Sept. 5, 2003, 3:45 p.m. EDT – Spectera Inc., Baltimore, is getting into the dental business and pushing its sales force to capture more big accounts.

Spectera, a vision care company owned by UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., will be working with a sister company to introduce Unimerica Dental, a national dental plan with a 50,000-provider network.

Spectera also is setting up divisions to focus on sales to unions and managed care plans. Becky Sheets will be the national director of labor and Mark Jolly the vice president of managed care sales.

Elsewhere at Spectera:

- Terry Ward, who has been a regional vice president for the Southeast, will now be the vice president of field sales.

- Lisa Hall will take over as regional vice president for the Southeast.

- Kim Thompson will become the national director and Lori Archer the manager of a new account management department.

In addition, Spectera has hired four regional sales representatives. The new reps are Scott Kaiser, Amy Bledsoe, Eric Bachle and Harris Miers.
