Great-West Hires Three

NU Online News Service, Sept. 5, 2003, 11:35 a.m. EDT – Great-West Healthcare, Denver, has hired Richard Bates, Greg Fox, and Raymond Mals Jr.

Bates will be the senior vice president of sales operations and strategy.

Fox will be the regional sales vice president for national account sales in the Northeast and Mals will be the regional sales vice president for national account sales in the Southeast.

Bates previously was senior vice president of corporate marketing for the managed care operations at CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia. He also has been a vice president for New York sales at Oxford Health Plans Inc., Trumbull, Conn.

Fox was a vice president of sales at CIGNA’s New York managed care operations.

Fox also has worked as a sales vice president for UnitedHealth Group Inc., Minnetonka, Minn., in UnitedHealth’s Western region.

Mals previously was group sales director at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, Atlanta, which is now a unit of WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif. He also worked as a regional vice president of sales in Charlotte, N.C., for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass.

Great-West Healthcare is a unit of Power Company of America, Montreal.
