Guarantee Trust Hires Former Pro Baseball Player

NU Online News Service, Sept. 4, 2003, 4:57 p.m. EDT – Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company, Glenview, Ill., has hired Jack Broughton, a former professional baseball player, to be a regional sales assistant vice president.

Broughton will recruit and train GTL life and health agents in the southeast.

Broughton previously was field vice president of life sales in the southeast for a unit of Conseco Inc., Carmel, Ind. Before that, he was the president and founder of Vision Marketing, a Conseco unit that sold Conseco life, health and annuity products through 200 agents throughout the United States.

Broughton played in the Pittsburgh Pirates baseball organization and had a brief stint with the New York Yankees before he entered the insurance industry.

Broughton has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Americus University.
