Report: Insurance Call Center Reps Average $10.58 Per Hour

NU Online News Service, Aug. 28, 2003, 5:25 p.m. EDT – Insurance companies pay call center agents an average of only $10.58 an hour, compared with an average of $18.48 for other types of financial companies, according to Cutting Edge Information Inc., Durham, N.C.

The research firm includes that statistic and others in a report about managing financial services call centers.

The report provides benchmark data on topics such as average speed of answer, cost per call and length of new agent training.

The authors also talk about trends such as offshore outsourcing.
