Close to two-thirds of parents and grandparents are not at all familiar with the Section 529 college savings plans, a recent survey finds. However, once the tax and other benefits of 529 plans are explained, 68% of parents and 44% of grandparents say they are more inclined to save for a childs college education using the 529 plan.
