New York Life Hires NAVA Vice Chair

NU Online News Service, Aug. 19, 2003, 3:18 p.m. EDT – New York Life Insurance Company, New York, has hired Mary Ann Brown to be senior vice president-finance.

Brown will be responsible for New York Life’s Financial Analysis & Corporate Development Department, which handles mergers and acquisitions, financial analysis and planning, and budget and cost accounting.

Brown previously was chief actuary at MetLife Inc., New York, and president of MetLife’s New England Products and Services subsidiary.

Brown has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Emory University, and a master ‘s degree in actuarial science from Georgia State University. She is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Schaumburg, Ill., and vice chair of the National Association for Variable Annuities, Reston, Va.
