NU Online News Service, Aug. 7, 2003, 12:13 p.m. EDT – Cotton States Life Insurance Company, Atlanta, is reporting $1.6 million in net income for the second quarter on $13 million in revenue, compared with $1.7 million in net income on $12 million in revenue for the second quarter of 2002.

Although low interest rates hurt net income by reducing returns on Cotton States’ investments, sales were solid, the company says.

Premium revenue from a guaranteed-issue, simplified-issue whole life policy grew 14%, the company says.
