NU Online News Service, Aug. 6, 2003, 12:49 p.m. EDT – Advantus Capital Management, a unit of Minnesota Life Insurance Company, St. Paul, Minn., has hired Christopher Sebald to run the Advantus total return investment team.
Sebald has been a senior vice president, portfolio manager and head of derivatives at AEGON USA Investment Management, Louisville, Ky., a unit of AEGON N.V., The Hague, Netherlands.
Sebald was a senior investment officer at Advantus from 1992 through 1997.
Sebald has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Minnesota. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
