NU Online News Service, Aug. 6, 2003, 11:31 a.m. EDT – LabOne Inc., Lenexa, Kan., has acquired ScanTech Solutions L.L.C., Earth City, Mo., from Protective Life Corp., Birmingham, Ala.
ScanTech retrieves medical documents for U.S. life insurers.
The price of the deal and other terms were not immediately available, but LabOne says Protective Life has agreed to pay it to provide teleunderwriting, paramedical exam, lab testing and medical document retrieval services.
The acquisition is the second deal LabOne has announced this month. Last week, the company agreed to acquire the MetLife Insurance Testing Laboratory, Elmsford, N.Y., from MetLife Inc., New York.
