NU Online News Service, July 30, 2003, 11:21 a.m. EDT – Manulife USA, Boston, has posted a new, Web-based retirement planning guide for members of 401(k) plans at http://www.manulife401k.com

The guide advises plan members to ask themselves four questions:

? How much will my retirement cost?

? How much must I contribute to my retirement plan to pay that cost?

? How should I allocate my contributions among different investment options?

? How well is my plan doing in relation to my goals?

The guide also recommends that plan members think in terms of one of five potential retirement lifestyles. Manulife came up with the lifestyles by using census data and other data, the company says.

Manulife USA is a unit of Manulife Financial Corp., Toronto.
