NU Online News Service, July 22, 2003, 2:53 p.m. EDT – The Georgia Department of Insurance has published an updated comparison of complaints against health maintenance organizations operating in the state.

The department says the HMO with the worst record had a complaint of ratio of only 3.25 substantiated complaints per 10,000 policyholders.

Since the Georgia department started publishing HMO complaint comparisons two years ago, the overall number of complaints has dropped, the department says.

The department has posted the report, which is based on information compiled in the last half of 2002, at http://www.gainsurance.org/COMPANIES/ComplaintRatio.asp
