NU Online News Service, July 16, 2003, 11:51 a.m. EDT – The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, has introduced the Basic Protection voluntary benefits package.

The package combines term life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance. Workers can pay for the package with a single premium payment.

Guardian is offering three different versions of the package, but it has tried to simplify enrollment and billing by using only three premium age bands for each version.

Guardian is marketing the package to employers with three or more employees. For companies with 25 to 500 employees, coverage can be issued without individual underwriting, Guardian says.
