NU Online News Service, July 10, 2003, 3:25 p.m. EDT – Frank Russell Company, Tacoma, Wash., has named WellChoice Inc., New York, to the Russell 1000 Index.
The stock index includes 1,000 of the largest publicly traded companies in the United States.
WellChoice is the parent company of Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Empire created WellChoice earlier this year while converting to a stock charter from a nonprofit charter.
