NU Online News Service, June 25, 2003, 11:35 a.m. EDT – MetLife Inc., New York, has updated its accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy.

The policy now pays off when insureds suffer from brain damage or third-degree burns as well as for injuries that lead to death, paralysis or the loss of limbs.

The revised policy will also pay extra benefits for on-the-job injuries and injuries that occur while insureds are riding in trains, airplanes and other common passenger vehicles.

Additions to the benefits package include coverage for counseling and physical therapy; help with child care and elder care costs; and help with education bills for the spouse and children of the insured.
