NU Online News Service, June 23, 2003, 11:35 a.m. EDT – HealthMarket Inc., Norwalk, Conn., says Arizona insurance regulators have given its insurance company subsidiary, American Travelers Assurance Company, permission to begin selling defined contribution health insurance plans in Arizona.

HealthMarket is now taking applications from small and midsize Arizona groups, the company says.

HealthMarket defined contribution plans offer high-deductible health insurance, individual health savings accounts and an annual rollover feature along with Web-based information about provider prices.

HealthMarket has enrolled more than 2,500 employer groups in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Texas, the company says.
