NU Online News Service, June 5, 2003, 11:25 a.m. EDT – Nationwide Financial Services Inc., Columbus, Ohio, says it is separating the roles of chairman and chief executive officer.

The company’s board has elected Arden Shisler to serve a one-year term as chairman.

W.G. Jurgensen, who has been the company’s chairman and CEO, will continue to be the CEO but give up the title of chairman, Nationwide says.

Shisler, the former owner of K&B Transport Inc., Dalton, Ohio, is also the chairman of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. Nationwide Mutual owns 63% of Nationwide Financial’s outstanding stock.
