NU Online News Service, June 3, 2003, 11:10 a.m. EDT – AmeriGroup Corp., Virginia Beach, Va., says Scott Tabakin will be resigning as chief financial officer Oct. 1.

Tabakin, who began working for AmeriGroup in early 2001 and guided the company through its first public stock offering, is leaving to help run a family business, the company says.

Tabakin succeeded Sherri Lee as AmeriGroup’s CFO. Lee continues to work for the company as its treasurer, and she will fill in for Tabakin while AmeriGroup looks for a new CFO, the company says.

AmeriGroup is a managed care company that runs health plans for Medicaid and other government programs.
