NU Online News Service, June 2, 2003, 12:18 p.m. EDT – Independence Blue Cross, Philadelphia, is now using the eaSuite software from edocs Inc., Natick, Mass., to handle Web-based customer service and billing.

Independence Blue customers and brokers can use the company’s new, eaSuite-based system to get bills, get quotes, schedule payments and check commissions, edocs says.

Independence Blue has combined the new eaSuite-based site with its existing IBxpress Web site, edocs says.

Edocs notes that the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Chicago, has agreed to market its technology to its 42 member plans. Independence Blue is the third Blues plan that has started using edocs software in the past 12 months, the company says.
