NU Online News Service, May 29, 2003, 12:11 p.m. EDT – Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., has agreed to use the “Benny Card” benefits-administration system developed by Evolution Benefits Inc., Avon, Conn.
Employers can use the Evolution card, which is linked to the national electronic payment network run by MasterCard International Purchase, N.Y., to administer health reimbursement arrangements and flexible spending accounts.
Humana hopes to offer employers a card that doubles as a health plan identification card and a MasterCard payment card in 2004, Humana says.
When Humana tested the Benny Card system on its own employees in 2002, it found that HRA and FSA enrollment increased 67%.
