Employers Re Combines Units

NU Online News Service, May 15, 2003, 4:22 p.m. EDT – Employers Reinsurance Corp., Overland Park, Kan., is combining the life and health reinsurance unit that handles the United Kingdom and the Middle East with the unit that handles Southern, Western and Northern Europe.

Alberto Izaga, a former head of the Southern, Western and Northern European unit, will run the combined businesses from an office in London, Employers Re says.

Izaga has been vice president of global business development at Employers Re since 2000. He has degrees in law and economics from Deusto University in Spain.

Lee Lovett, who has been running the U.K. and Middle East unit, will be leaving the company, Employers Re says.

Employers Re is a subsidiary of General Electric Company, Fairfield, Conn.
