NU Online News Service, May 12, 2003, 3:08 p.m. EDT – SunTrust Securities Inc., the broker-dealer arm of SunTrust Banks Inc., Atlanta, has picked BISYS Group Inc., New York, to supply life insurance, long-term care insurance and disability insurance for its 400 registered representatives and insurance agents.
BISYS will also handle sales and back-office support for life insurance and related products, BISYS says.
SunTrust manages $120 billion in assets and is one of the biggest regional banks in the United States. Most of its registered reps are in offices in bank branches in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
BISYS already has a contract to provide insurance and securities training programs for SunTrust registered reps, BISYS says.
