Ark. Official To Serve On Military Actuarial Panel

NU Online News Service, May 9, 2003, 5:27 p.m. EDT – Arkansas Insurance Department Deputy Commissioner John Hartnedy has been named to the U.S. Department of Defense Retirement Board of Actuaries.

Hartnedy will continue in his position as deputy commissioner and chief actuary of the Arkansas department.

He will also serve on the three-member Defense Department panel. His term is set to expire in September 2014.

Hartnedy, who began working for the Arkansas department in 1996, will help make actuarial decisions for the U.S. military’s retirement fund.

The federal fund was created to finance the liabilities of the Defense Department under military retirement and survivor benefit programs.
