DTCC Trebles Insurance Transaction Volume

NU Online News Service, May 6, 2003, 11:50 a.m. EDT – Depository Trust & Clearing Corp., New York, says its Insurance Services systems handled 22.5 million commission, application and premium transactions in 2002, up from 6.4 million in 2001.

The dollar value of insurance transaction money settlements increased to $5.4 billion, from $3.4 billion, DTCC says.

DTCC provides clearinghouse services for insurers and mutual fund companies as well as the securities industry.
