Marsh Reports Higher 1st Quarter Net Income

NU Online News Service, April 23, 2003, 12:29 p.m. EDT – Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc., New York, is reporting $443 million in net income for the first quarter on $2.9 billion in revenue, up from $418 million in net income on $2.6 billion in revenue for the first quarter of 2002.

The insurance brokerage and consulting firm’s retirement services consulting unit increased its revenue 11%, to $300 million, and the firm’s health care and group benefits unit increased its revenue 17%, to $98 million.
