CIGNA And SHPS Launch Leave Reporting Program

NU Online News Service, April 22, 2003, 4:53 p.m. EDT – CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia, is working with SHPS Inc., Louisville, Ky., a benefits administration company, to introduce the CIGNA Leave Solutions program.

The program will help employers administer military leave, jury duty leave, federal and state family and medical leave, and other types of leaves that might be offered in conjunction with short-term disability coverage, CIGNA says.

The program will provide one telephone number that workers can call to report all types of leave.

Call-center counselors will be able to explain leave requirements to employees, and they will help employers comply with confidentiality laws, CIGNA says.

The program will use electronic mail to keep employers informed about workers who are taking various types of leave.
