Klein Succeeds Berman At N.Y. Health Insurer

NU Online News Service, April 1, 2003, 10:53 a.m. EST – The Lifetime Healthcare Companies Inc., Rochester, N.Y., says Howard Berman, its chief executive officer, is retiring after 18 years of holding the CEO title.

Lifetime will be giving the CEO title to David Klein, the company’s president.

Lifetime, formerly called Excellus Inc., is the parent company of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and other health insurance subsidiaries.

Klein has worked for the company since 1986. He has a bachelor’s degree in management from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master’s degree in business from the University of Chicago.

Klein is chairman of the board of United Way of Greater Rochester and a member of the board of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, Chicago.
