NU Online News Service, March 31, 2003, 12:28 p.m. EST – The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, New York, has introduced the Basic and Essential Plan, a “barebones” indemnity health insurance policy for individuals and families living in New Jersey.

The stripped-down policy protects insureds against the risk of catastrophic losses. It is cheaper than ordinary individual New Jersey policies, but it lacks many of the coverage features that those policies offer, Guardian says.

More information is available from Guardian, at 888-243-6585.
