NU Online News Service, March 27, 2003, 2:41 p.m. EST – Conning Capital Partners, Hartford, has invested $4.25 million in Elder Health Inc., Baltimore.

Elder Health is a Medicare health maintenance organization that provides health coverage for Maryland and Pennsylvania residents who qualify both for Medicare and Medicaid.

Medicare is a federal program that pays for medical care for elderly and disabled U.S. residents, and Medicaid is a state and federal program that pays for care for the poor.

Conning Capital is a unit of Swiss Reinsurance Company, Zurich.
