NU Online News Service, March 25, 2003, 11:18 a.m. EST – Word & Brown, Orange, Calif., has set up a division, Choice Administrators, that will sell defined contribution health plans outside California.
Word & Brown already sells CaliforniaChoice, a program for small California groups that gives plan members a chance to select from a long menu of carriers and plan designs. The California program provides coverage for 10,000 employers and about 150,000 employees and dependents.
The Choice Administrators division will try to develop similar programs in other states, Word & Brown says.
