NU Online News Service, March 14, 2003, 12:21 p.m. EST – The National Life Group, Montpelier, Vt., has named Thomas MacLeay chairman and chief executive officer.

The company has also named James Mallon president and chief operating officer of its main operating unit, National Life Insurance Company.

MacLeay, who has been running the company on an interim basis since June 2002, succeeds Patrick Welch, who left to become president of the managed care operations at CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia.
