NU Online News Service, Jan. 22, 10:28 a.m. – CareGain Inc., Monroe Township, N.J., has started selling defined-contribution health plan services to health insurers and self-funded employee health plans.

CareGain will help insurers and other customers sell programs that combine high-deductible catastrophic health insurance with employer-funded personal care accounts.

CareGain customers can give employers a choice of keeping unspent account funds in the plan or giving workers the ability to take cash out of the accounts when they leave.

CareGain also offers a points-based incentive system that rewards workers for taking steps to improve their own health and cut plan administrative costs.
