Security National Acquires Acadian Life Policies

NU Online News Service, Dec. 30, 9:54 a.m. – Security National Life Insurance Company, a unit of Security National Financial Corp., Salt Lake City, says it has acquired a block of 275,000 funeral insurance policies from Acadian Life Insurance Company, Baton Rouge, La.

The block, which generates about $13 million in annual premium and investment income, has $75 million in assets and $75 million in insurance reserves, Security National says.

Security National has agreed both to reinsure and to assume all liabilities related to the policies.
