N.Y. Life Names New Asia Region Chief

NU Online News Service, Dec. 16, 10:04 a.m. – New York Life International, a unit of New York Life Insurance Company, New York, has promoted David Skinner to chief executive of its Asia region.

Skinner is succeeding Dennis Pedini, who is retiring. Skinner will now work in the company’s office in Hong Kong.

Skinner has been the chief financial officer and head of business development of New York Life International since 2000. He previously was chief financial officer of Liberty International, a unit of Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Boston. He has also been chief financial officer of Aetna Canada, a unit of Aetna Inc., Hartford, and director of financial accounting at CIGNA Corp., Hartford.

Skinner has a master’s degree in business from the University of Rochester. He holds the certified public accountant professional designation.
