Illinois Gets New Short-Term Health Plan

NU Online News Service, Dec. 10, 11:29 a.m. – UNICARE Health Insurance Company of the Midwest, Bolingbrook, Ill., a unit of WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif., has introduced a new individual and family short-term health benefit plan for Illinois residents.

The plan offers continual coverage from a minimum of 30 days to a maximum of 180 days. An individual can begin or end coverage on any day of the month.

The plan covers emergency care, hospitalization, prescription drugs and some preventive health programs.

Deductibles for the plan range from $250 to $2000.
