NU Online News Service, Dec. 5, 9:48 a.m. – Online Benefits Inc., Uniondale, N.Y., has added an electronic guide to its Benergy benefits communications software that helps employers gather and publish the benefit plan disclosures required by the U.S. Department of Labor.

The guide leads employers through the process of assembling the information about health maintenance organization rules, federal health coverage continuation rules, federal pension rights regulations and other matters that should go into an employer’s summary plan descriptions, Online Benefits says.

An employer must still get proper legal approval for the resulting documents before using them, but the Benergy guide can help speed up the process of creating them, Online Benefits says.
