NU Online News Service, Dec. 2, 7:30 a.m. – Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Richmond, Va., is changing its name today to Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
Anthem Inc., Indianapolis, acquired the unit, which provides or administers health coverage for 2.5 million Virginia residents, when it completed the acquisition of Trigon Healthcare Inc. July 31.
Tom Snead, who was chairman of Trigon, is now president of Anthem’s Anthem Southeast division, Anthem says.
