MassMutual Revamps Disability Site

NU Online News Service, Nov. 20, 12:55 p.m. – Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Springfield, Mass., has revamped its disability insurance marketing Web site, at http://www.halfapaycheck.com

New features include a needs calculator to compare current income and group long-term disability plan coverage with monthly expenses; a savings evaluator for identifying and measuring the use of savings versus using disability income insurance; and a retirement calculator to illustrate potential retirement plan shortfalls.

The site also includes the results of MassMutual’s July 2002 Benefits Barometer survey.

The survey found that nearly half of employees fail to realize that only a portion of their salary is covered by their group long-term disability insurance, while fewer than one-third of employers offer both group and supplemental individual disability income insurance.
