NU Online News Service, Nov. 20, 1:22 p.m. – HealthNow New York Inc., Buffalo, N.Y., is selling an employee benefit package for businesses with two to 50 eligible employees in upstate New York.
The package, which combines health insurance from HealthNow with life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage from MetLife Inc., New York, is available in the Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo regions.
HealthNow will sell the package through brokers and its affiliated insurance agency, New York Care Plus Insurance Agency Inc. The agency will administer premium billing and enrollment for MetLife for the groups that buy the package.
The health insurance component provides a choice of two health maintenance organization plans that cover preventive care. There is no deductible, and employers can choose either a $15 or $20 co-pay option, HealthNow says. Prescription drug coverage is also included in the plan.
