NU Online News Service, Nov. 14, 10:16 a.m. – Brown & Brown Inc., Daytona Beach, Fla., an insurance agency and brokerage firm, has promoted Jim Henderson to president and chief operating officer.
Henderson is a Brown & Brown board member who has worked for the company since 1985.
J. Hyatt Brown, who has been the chairman, president and chief operating officer, will continue to be the chairman of the company.
The company has also promoted Charles Lydecker and J. Powell Brown to regional executive vice president, and it has given Linda Downs, who already is a regional executive vice president, more responsibilities.
Brown & Brown focuses on selling property-casualty insurance, but it also sells employee benefits administration, managed health care services and other benefits-related products and services.
