Mellon Keeps Kansas Pension Custody Contract

NU Online News Service, Nov. 12, 3:22 p.m. – Mellon Global Securities Services, Boston, says it has won a renewal of its custody contract for the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, Topeka, Kan.

Mellon will continue to provide trust, custody and securities lending services for the $8.4 billion fund, and its Russell/Mellon Analytical Services unit will track the KPERS fund’s performance.

KPERS manages defined-benefit pension plans for 240,000 current and former Kansas public employees who participate in the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, the Kansas Police and Firemen’s Retirement System and the Kansas Retirement System for Judges.

Mellon Global is a unit of Mellon Financial Corp., Pittsburgh.
