NU Online News Service, Nov. 6, 11:25 a.m. – Aetna, Inc., King Of Prussia, Pa., has launched a new Web-based portal to agents in its Mid-Atlantic region to give them the ability to offer online insurance quotes in real time to mid-sized employer groups.
The system can be used to quote benefits and rates for employers with between 51 and 99 employees.
“Previously, brokers would have to obtain all the necessary census information from a company, submit a proposal to Aetna and then wait a couple of days for a formal proposal,” says Patrick Young, Aetna’s Mid-Atlantic Region general manager for mid-sized employer groups. “Now a broker will be able to enter the census data and quote rates and benefits almost immediately.”
