Ariturk To Be CEO of Acacia

NU Online News Service, Nov. 5, 9:45 a.m. – Acacia Life’s board of directors has elected Haluk Ariturk to be president and CEO of Acacia Life Insurance Company and Acacia National Life Insurance Company, effective January 2003 upon the retirement of Charles T. Nason, the company’s current chairman and CEO.

Nason, who has been with Acacia, in Bethesda, Md., for 25 years, has been CEO since April 1988. After his retirement, Nason will continue as chairman of the board of Acacia Life and its subsidiaries, Calvert Group Ltd. and Acacia Federal Savings Bank, the company says.

Ariturk joined Acacia in 1982 as a financial actuary and has served as its chief actuary, senior vice president of operations and, most recently, president and chief operating officer.

He headed up the insurance companies’ integration efforts when Ameritas and Acacia mutual holding companies merged in January 1999 and has served as executive vice president of the Ameritas Acacia Service Center in Lincoln, Neb., since 1999.
