NU Online News Service, 10:58 a.m. – HealthMarket Inc., Chicago, announced today that it is approved by the Illinois Department of Insurance to sell its consumer driven health plans in the state of Illinois.
The plans are designed as an alternative to managed care “enabling consumers to take a more active role in healthcare treatment and spending decisions,” according to a press release.
HealthMarket is accepting new business enrollments for Nov. 1 effective dates.
HealthMarket expects its growth to come from declining Illinois managed care enrollment, product-line diversification and geographic expansion.
