NU Online News Service, Oct. 22, 10:20 a.m. – Bankers Life and Casualty Company, Chicago, has announced a marketing agreement with Tufts Health Plan, Waltham, Mass., to sell Tufts' Secure Horizons health plan to Bankers' senior clients.

The agreement will allow Bankers' licensed representatives to offer Medicare recipients the option of joining the Secure Horizons Medicare+Choice plan.

Secure Horizons provides Medicare beneficiaries with additional benefits beyond traditional Medicare, such as coverage for annual physicals, inpatient hospital coverage, $600 in annual prescription drug coverage, low-cost eye exams, preventive dental care and coordination of care between primary care physicians and specialists.

Secure Horizons has trained Bankers' agents in selling the product and in complying with rules of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Bankers says it has more than 3,000 agents selling health, life and retirement products to the senior market.
