NU Online News Service, Oct. 9, 12:16 p.m. – Metavante Corp., a unit of Marshall & Ilsley Corp., Milwaukee, has introduced the OnePersonPlus plan, a defined-benefit retirement plan for freelancers and owners of businesses with one to five employees.

Customers who use the plan can defer income on as much as $100,000 in 2002 contributions, compared with a maximum of $40,000 in contributions made to other types of plans, Metavante says.

Customers can put the plan assets in any investment vehicle, and the funds can grow tax-free until the customers retire and begin to make withdrawals, Metavante says.

Metavante is distributing the plan through insurance agents, brokers, financial planners and accountants.
