NU Online News Service, Oct. 3, 5:25 p.m. – Benefitfocus.com Inc., Mount Pleasant, S.C., says it has developed software that will give insurers the ability to receive employee enrollment data in the new federal standard format.
The government is introducing mandatory health information data standards to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, in an effort to increase the efficiency of the U.S. health finance system by promoting greater use of electronic data communications.
